Hello! Data Reframed (formerly LA Tech4Good) is sharing the curriculum from our January 2025 workshop series here. This is the final series that we hosted and are making it available for you to use under a Creative Commons license. If you’re interested in adapting for your own uses or would like more information, please email us.

We’ve left references to Zoom breakout rooms (for small group discussions) and Slack in case you want to follow our format, which we found to be successful. The hyperlinks have been removed. We can also offer our facilitator training materials, pre- and post-workshop surveys, and group norms.

The content would benefit from an update with a more global perspective, many references are outdated, and AI has changed the playing field in the last year or two.

Getting started

This course is organized using Notion, a free online workspace tool, to help you track your learning and complete the interactive exercises all in one place. This playbook is yours to document your notes during the course, to keep after the course is over, and to refer back to and build on as you apply what you've learned to your data practice.

You’ll have pre-work before each session; approximate times are included for your planning.

IMPORTANT: Complete these five steps before we meet for our first session 20 minutes
